When Hate Is Appropriate!

I know the title may sound odd, but consider that what we hate defines what we love… and visa versa.  Thus there are times when hate is not only appropriate, but called for.  Consider the following…

Ps 26:3 For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. 4 I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites.  5 I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.

Ps 31:6 I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the Lord.

Ps 101:3 I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless.  I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. 4 A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil.

Ps 119:104 Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

Ps 119:113 I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.

Ps 139:21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord?  And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?  22 I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!  Try me and know my thoughts!  24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Ps 97:10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil!

These Scriptures are deserving of serious meditation and contemplation.  They are not to be read lightly either.
