Total Population Since Adam And Eve

I don’t know why I began wondering about this the other day… but the question came into my mind, “I wonder how many people have lived since Adam and Eve were created by God?”  As part of my thinking these Scriptures came into play:

Matthew 7:13, Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 22:14 Many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

CrowdAs a believer I have wondered how Jesus quantified “many” and “few?”  The answer to that question is with God alone.  There are enough lost people to fill every church to overflowing.  The fields ARE white unto harvest!

Of course any number that answers my question is purely a scientific guess… but I started googling it anyway and I found number of interesting thoughts.  If you’re interested in reading these, click here (Best) and here and here (Technical) and here.  2002 is the latest year I could find accurate projections.

If you just want the hard “facts” for table talk, here they are:

Number that have ever been born:  106,456,367,669 (As of 8/15/2009)

2002 World population:  6,215,000,000

% Alive in 2002 who have ever lived:  5.8%

Projected world population in 2011: 7,000,000,000

The real question is what are we doing to reach the ONE in our life that doesn’t know Jesus?

Millions and millions of humans were born and now they are dead and long forgotten. Pretty soon I will join them; a scary thought, but true. God have mercy on us!
